Our Story

Burchette & Burchette Hardwood Floors is a third generation, family-owned-and-operated business from Elkin, N.C. Since 1948, we have specialized in delivering a high quality product with customer service before, during, and after the sale is complete.

Over the last 60 years, it has been our experience that a person building or remodeling their dream home, aspires for that home to be unique and to feel like home to them. It has always been our endeavor to help our customers create the perfect floor for their home. Wood floors are unique; they each have a history and a personality. It is our purpose to match that personality with your own, and then provide the highest quality, custom milled floor to make your vision a reality.

No single manufacturer can be the best at everything, just like in any industry, most manufacturers specialize in certain fields. We have searched the world over to collect the most extensive, custom milled, quality driven product line available. We refer to this exclusive line as the 'Artisan Collection.'

The Artisan Collection embodies a vast variety of species, grades, widths, thicknesses, length options, surface textures, and finishes. The line is composed of solid and engineered hardwood products, ranging from 2 1/4" up to 10" wide. We offer three grades, designed to minimize waste, and to create a more eco-friendly product. Many of these products are available from manufacturers who are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which ensures the proper stewardship of our natural forests.

The Artisan Collection also offers a variety of surface textures including numerous hand-scraping techniques, weathered textures, a French Bleed effect, and hand chiseled square pegs. We offer all of our products unfinished, and many of them pre-finished with an array of finishing techniques.

Medallions, borders, inlays, and parquet are all various expressions of art through craftsmanship. There are hundreds of styles available in various designs; however, we can create a unique piece based on your design scheme.

We are dedicated to the use of products that are made using proper forest management practices, as well as the use of products made from sustainable materials such as cork and bamboo.

We also offer matching stair components, wrought iron, air registers, adhesives, waterproofers, wood fillers, and finishes.

To help you with your selection we have provided a virtual showroom by choosing from our products listed on the left that outline our product line, specifications, detail photographs, and room scenes to help you visualize your future hardwood floor.

We also have a 6,000 sq. ft. showroom in Elkin, N.C. where you will find our home office. There is also a satellite showroom in Greensboro, N.C. as well. We have a highly trained sales staff that will be happy to assist you with your selections. We also provide sampling of products you may be interested in.
