Natural grade White Ash is similar to the appearance of White Oak, but frequently more yellow. It has bold, straight, and moderately open grain with occasional wavy figure. It is a dense hardwood, as it is used to make baseball bats. It will have some knots, worm holes, and mineral streaks.
